The entryway of your home doesn’t just make a first impression; it also sets the tone for the style that carries throughout the rest of your home. Think of it as a snapshot of your unique style and what your home represents to you. No matter if you have a small entryway, an open-concept entryway, or a traditional entryway, creating a space that merges form with function is critical.

Here are five easy steps for designing an entryway:

How to Style an Entryway Table

Step 1: Start with Furniture

We like to start with a table to help give the entryway some substance and to increase functionality. This can be anything from a console table to a side table. The goal here to build off this space. Remember to ask yourself, how would I be using this on a day-to-day? This will help you to add in functional pieces.

Let me give you an example. If you have a family, you will likely want something with more storage possibilities and made out of materials that are sturdy and won’t break easily.

Step 2: Add a rug

Adding a rug to your entryway can add warmth, make the space more inviting, and adds dimension. Play with colors and styles that fit your unique vision!

Step 3: Add lighting

In this step, you can add a lamp to the entryway table or if you have the ability, you can play around with different types of lighting!

Step 4: Create a focal point

For this step you can hang or lean artwork or a mirror that draws the eye upward to create a balanced focal point. If you have a smaller entryway space, using a mirror can help make the space feel larger.

Step 5: Add home decor

Bring your entryway to life with functional storage pieces like seagrass baskets, small bowls for keys, and decorative details like candles, books, flowers, and layered art to fill it in! This is your chance to add your personal touch to the entryway look.
