12 essentials for bringing a baby home

Does thinking about what you need to prepare your home before your baby comes make your head spin?

It can be overwhelming trying to determine what you need and what you could actually do without. Whether you are a first-time mom or are on kid number three, we are sharing the 12 essentials to have on hand when you bring your baby home!

Shop Baby Essentials

1. ErgoBaby Omni 360 Carrier This is one of our favorite things we have bought because it is high quality, grows with the baby (it can hold up to 45 pounds!), includes pockets, and has a sunshade/rain cover for the baby’s head.

2. Ring Stick Up Cam Battery There are so many different baby monitors on the market, we love using the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery. This monitor makes it not only easy to see your baby, but it also has great privacy settings, and makes it easy to take with you on the go!

3. Yogasleep Hushh Portable White Noise Machine – White noise actually mimics the sound that newborns are used to hearing when they’re on their tummy so not only is it soothing and familiar, but it also drowns out any exterior noises. This one is awesome because it’s portable and easy to travel with, but we also use it at home!

4. UPPAbaby VISTA Stroller – The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller adapts to your growing family allowing for multiple configurations to transport up to three children. This stroller is definitely an investment, but it is so worth it and comes with a great car seat!

5. UPPAbaby Carry-All Parent Organizer – This deluxe parent console has multiple, easy-access compartments for various beverages or snacks, while a large zipper pocket stores personal items. It is seriously great for when you are out and about and need easy access to certain items!

6. HALO BassiNest Swivel Sleeper – This has been a game-changer for our family. A bassinet is a comfortable way to keep a baby right next to your bed in the early months. The best part is that you don’t have to get up and down so frequently to tend to the baby. It swivels over the bed for easy access, making recovery more comfortable. Plus it doesn’t take up a lot of space!

7. REEPLE Baby Lounger – You certainly don’t need a baby lounger, but it can be an incredibly nice and safe way to set down your baby when you are in the kitchen or working.

8. Muslin Swaddle Blanket – These baby blankets are my favorite because they are high-quality, soft, and durable. Plus they come in a variety of different designs that are so cute!

9. Elvie Double Electric Breast Pump – Figuring out your milk production, feeding schedule, nipple pain, and on and on and on… It’s A LOT. The Haakaa is a suction, electronic pump that monitors milk volume in real-time, tracks pumping history for each breast, and control the pump remotely. Plus the Elvie Pump automatically switches from Stimulation into Expression mode when it detects let-down and will pause when the bottle is full.

10. Boppy Nursing Pillow and Positioner – This pillow is essential to have because it helps provide relief to your arms and your back by having the baby lift to a better position for breastfeeding or bottle feeding!

11. Postpartum Belly Support Recovery Wrap – Having a postpartum belly support wrap is so vital to transitioning. They support abdominal muscles and can aid with diastasis recti, a condition where the abdominals remain separated following pregnancy, help with lower back pain and posture, and reduce swelling. Whether you had a C-section or vaginal birth, having this will help you recover quicker!

12. Muslin Burp Cloths – These are top-notch burp cloths that are soft enough for babies skin and absorbent enough to contain big messes.
